To offer high quality medical education to students within a system of demonstrated Christian values and beliefs, that will foster the molding of Christian physicians, educated to provide whole-person care to individuals, families, and communities.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the School of Basic Medical Sciences include:

Creating an environment in which medical students will acquire the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes appropriate to Christian Health Professionals and scholars.

School of Computing and Engineering Sciences

The School of computing and Engineering Sciences provides the education and variety of skills necessary to succeed within high technology environments in industry, society and the church, and for software and hardware design, manufacture and maintenance in this decade. Through projects involving real life applications, students are given broad background knowledge of the technological enterprise system within a framework of moral and ethical guiding principles. Specifically, students are exposed to experiences that enable them to: Know why information processing is essential in the electronic world.

School of Education And Humanities

Welcome to the School of Education and Humanities here at Babcock University. Our mission is to build minds for leadership through quality education in the Arts, Humanities and Education using the Christian platform to transform character and produce moral and ethical graduates for the wider society. Students of the School of Education and Humanities are provided with requisite skills that will make them employable as well as being job creators in their own right. Cross fertilization of ideas and interdisciplinary studies are encouraged in order to bring out the best in our students, and advanced cutting edge research.

School of Law And Security Studies

Through our School, BU offers a focused, purposeful and moral formation and reformation of a new breed of legal practitioners and well-equipped security industry against a backdrop of general insecurity in a post-military civil society. Creating wealth and positively impacting society by developing managerial resourcefulness through innovative research and Christian-based education.

PHILOSOPHY

TThe School of Management Sciences developed all its programmes on the basis of impeccable moral education using the Adventist Christian heritage of God as the foundation of all knowledge. The school believes in research and sound pedagogy as the ultimate influence in the future of education and industrial development of any society. As a result, the school adopts a mixture of classroom work, field research and hands-on practicum in the design of all its programmes.

School of Nursing Sciences

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the school is to provide high quality, broad-based nursing education that is based on Christian values. The school will prepare men and women of various ethnic and religious backgrounds to become dedicated and committed nursing professionals who are ready to advocate for the principle of preventive health care and are willing to take on leadership roles. They will be equipped with clinical skills and research capabilities that will make a difference in this generation. Emphasis will be placed on client-centered nursing care practices, and holistic approach to learning in the context that integrates faith and learning.

The Mission Statement of the School of Public and Allied Health, Babcock University, is to promote and improve medical care and health of all individuals, while preventing, diagnosing and controlling diseases, through Christian Education and Medical sciences.

The mission of the School of Science and Technology is to equip students with the necessary ingredients of each discipline’s character, with the view of making them whole leaders of dignity prepared for responsible service to humanity. With in-depth analytic temper, they will be productive and acceptable to the society while being Christ centered.

PHILOSOPHY

The School is determined to balance theory with practical training in solving problems associated to mankind and his environment. With a firm and strong foundation, students will express their full capacity to display talents and skills meeting the needs of mankind to the glory of God.

Veronica Adeleke School of Social Sciences

MISSION STATEMENT

To establish and provide a cultural, ethical and intellectual environment for incubating and developing democratic and public interest focused civic citizenship, through multidisciplinary and trans-disciplinary teaching and research, whose objective is preeminently to establish and nurture strong links and social networks between town and gown.

PHILOSOPHY

Veronica Adeleke School of Social Sciences is founded on the principles of service to God and humanity for which Babcock University is known.
